Sisterhood

It seems like ages since I have had a chance to sit down and colour, life has been somewhat busy over the last year :) :) :). This card has been made for my daughter's birthday, she loves owls :). The digi stamp used is Sisterhood by Aurora Wings.

I challenged myself with this card and only used Polychromos, I do love my crayons so much but find it very hard to colour large areas with them. To give some texture to the background I clear heat embossed using a small heart stamp. The only other bits of embellishment are the addition of liquid pears and some lace, after all, an image like this really should hold centre stage I think :)

 • Aurora Wings - Challenge #54 Fur and Feathers
 • 2 Crafty Critter Crazies (M, P1, E5, must have a critter) - Anything Goes with a Critter
 • Country View Crafts' Challenge (M, P1) July - Things with Wings
 • As You Like It Challenge 2W,E3 Do you prefer pearls or gems (and Why) (W2 of 2) - It really does depend on the card and who it is for. Pearls would be my choice over gems as I love the look of them, classy, reflect light beautifully and smooth to the touch. Although I use plastic pearls a lot of the time I love Liquid Pearls and find them so versatile.
 • Through the Purple Haze 2W, E3, C10 #129 Anything With Wings (W2 of 2)

It is all under the kilt!!!!

Just a very quick post as I made this card to join in with the current challenge 'Up Yer Kilt'. I often stop by this fun challenge but find it so hard to create for lol - I just don't seem to have the right sense of humour hahahaha. Anyway this time I felt I could join in as there is a Scottish theme which makes me happy and I do have tartan paper at hand.

Have to admit I am kind of giggling at the thought of wearing a kilt to yoga classes, bit like what what one is told to think of when having to face public speaking - just imagine you audience is naked hahaha.

I did a hut for some kilt jokes and sayings and found the one below on Pinterest. For the images I used free shiloutette yoga people which I found at Designed by Pickapic / Freepik.

Challenge #13 - Dies

This card is for my Mum's birthday in a couple of days time and I know she is going to love it. Mum has several poppy plants in her garden with the wonderful large poppies, so colourful and beautifully formed and great contrast to her roses :) :) :)

For this card I used Sheena Douglas Poppy Perfect Partners (stamp and die set) and coloured the poppies with Polychromos crayons. The background of this card has been created with Tim Holtz Distress Oxides which I have just got and have fallen in love with, so much fun to use. I then embossed the background with a Sheena Douglas embossing folder and then enhanced the embossing with gold guilders wax. The lace die is by Verity Rose, it looked so effective in the black on the front of the card I decided to use a remaining bit of the Distress Oxide background I made to back a second black lace cut and used this on the inside of the card too. The Happy Birthday and Best Mum stamps are from .Making Cards issue 6. To finish off the card I added a gold charm heart and red gems.

Anything Goes with an optional TWIST .... Touch of Kindness

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :) do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, it is always so much fun and Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

What can be a kinder way to cheer somebody up than to send them a card to let them know you have them in your thoughts :) :) For this card I used 'Seeds' which is a digi with 3 seed packets on it. I only wanted the asters so cropped the rest of the image. The backgrounds has been created with Distress Oxides with the extra bits being used for the die cuts. Image coloured with Polychromos and the die cuts finished off with a few mauve gems. A simple card but I do love the colour combination :)

Ingredients:-
 • image - one of the image from the 'Seeds' digi by IKEsART
 • colouring medium - Tim Holtz Distress Oxides, Polychromos crayons
 • other items - clear stamps for sentiment and gems

Challenge #12 - Elements of Nature

Oh so many ideas for this challenge it was hard to settle on a final choice. I have not done any watercolour backgrounds for ages so for this card my final decision was based around creating my own watercolour background in my favourite colours :) :) :). A clean and simple card using two dies - Ornate Trellis from Crafters Companion and the doily from the magazine Die Cutting Essentials; and stamps from the Creative Stamping magazine. To finish off I added liquid pearls in very pale blue.

The River

Challenge 92
Anything Goes with an optional TWIST .... Relax

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :) do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, it is always so much fun and Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

I have just retuned from the Middle East permanently so back in the UK now, at least the sun is shining at the moment but I am already missing our old life. It is pretty hard to adjust to this very different way of life here but thankfully I was thinking in advance and already had some crafty items waiting for me in my UK house (nearly all my craft items are now in a relocation shipment, some will arrive in about 4 weeks the rest in the main shipment will be with me in about 4 months). Can't say I am feeling very creative so have gone with a heavily coloured creation using Ike's 'The River', which certainly entertained me for a few hours lol. So why this image for this challenge, well I like to try and follow the 'twist' themes which are optional and for me, the most relaxing time is when I can escape to nature with no phone, computer or other means of communicating with the modern world. I find I can recharge my batteries in these peaceful locations and then sort of cope in the human world without losing my rag every 5 minutes !!!!!! :) :) :)

The bird is a polymer stamp and was coloured with S/N sparkle pens, the sentiment is also a stamp and stamped with Memento black ink.

Ingredients:-
 • image - The River by IKEsART
 • colouring medium - SN markers and Polychromos crayons
 • other items - clear stamps for bird and sentiment
