Make Us Laugh

Time for another challenge over at

Challenge 60
Make Us Laugh

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :)  do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, it is always so much fun and  Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

So what sort of thing makes me laugh, well somebody walking into a lamp post would do the trick so long as it was not me :) :) :) I also have a wee giggle to myself when I know somebody is stretching the truth and I know the truth, it just seems so pointless to me.  So when I saw the challenge Make Us Laugh I remembered an occasion at a drinks night out with friends (mainly men folk but a few wives too).  If I remember correctly the men were bragging as usual and the subject got round to the colossal size of their hanging bits :).  On of the guys, who always reminds me of Barney from the Flintstones and that happens to be his nickname too, he is a wee podgy guy who puffs out his chest and struts around joined in the discussion.  His wife looked at me and stuck up her pinky finger and wiggled it about hahahaha - now when she and I meet up that tends to be our greeting, a private joke between us.  And so, now you know the when the idea for this card was born and I hope I have given you a chuckle too.

I designed the background paper on Photoshop and added my text, I drew the 'dangly bits' and added the hand and magnifying image from IKEsART.  Once printed I made a stencil using my die cutter and an acetate sheet and then used the stencil to add the black ovals on the right hand side and the left ovals using clear texture paste.  The image was then coloured with Promarkers and the magnifying class frame heat embossed with Silver Dollar.  I make my rulers and airbrushed them with Promarkers and added them with foam tape.

Ingredients:-
  • image - Magnifying Glass from the Greek Crisis series by IKEsART
  • colouring medium - Promarkers
  • from my stash - my own stencil, gold glitter spray, Silver Dollar embossing powder, transparent texture paste

Globe Turtle

Hello folks.  We have another challenge at One Stitch At A Time so how about popping over to see all the fabulous creations by the design team.  The prize this month is an awesome digi pack containing several images and a paper pack too - how cool is that.

Challenge 258

Theme 'Anything Goes with EMBOSSING

A very quick blog post from me today, I don't know where the time is going but it sure is flying by :) :) For my creation I really wend down the embossing route :) :) :) The image, Globe Turtle by CraftyGirl Creations was coloured with Promarkers and metallic pens then certain areas embossed with clear embossing powder.  The background uses an awesome seashell design which I then airbrushed with Promarkers and added white embossing powder.  The card I used is a photo type card which give the most awesome sheen for air-burshing.

I now have this pen holder on my desk at work where no crafting takes place and is a lovely reminder that colouring really is something that makes my world a better place :) :) :)

Ingredients:-
  • Image -  Globe Turtle by CraftyGirl Creations
  • Colouring medium -Promarkers, inks and metallic pens

HATS

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :)  do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, it is always so much fun and  Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

I was so tempted to use an image I love called Hat Shop but decided to use the individual hat images and make a pop up box card for a change but try to make it look like a haberdashery shop where hopefully hats would be found lol.  Not sure I succeeded but most of all I had fun making this and that is what crafting is all about and it is a rather fun 'Hats off to You' card.  I did add the text to the images before printing.

Ingredients:-
  • image - Magnifying Glass from the Greek Crisis series by IKEsART
  • colouring medium - Polychromos, gold pen
  • from my stash - ribbon, peel off hat stickers, bows, pearls, net leaves, feathers, flowers

Lucky Me

Lucky Me

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :)  do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, it is always so much fun and  Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

The one thing I love about Ike's challenges is they so often take me out of my comfort zone hahaha and this one was not different.  Lucky Me seems like an easy challenge, I have so much in my life to be lucky for, a wonderful hubby, two fabulous kids who have grown into adults who are secure in themselves, a home etc.  However, with this challenge I got caught up with the 'Irish' theme, not because it is special to me (those who know me know why) and trying to link that to lucky was super hard.  In the end I opted to combine something that I can do so therefore I am lucky and that is to smile and shamrocks as green is certainly the colour of life.

The 'Billboard' digi is part of Ike's Greek Crisis series and I added the text to link into my 'smiling happy' thoughts.  I airbrushed the background of the billboard with Promarkers then coloured the wooded areas also with Promarkers.  Next I took a crayon and wood embossing folder and coloured hard to pick up the lines.  To finish off the billboard I used a yellow button and drew a smily face on it.

The card front and inside are covered with paper which has leaves, I so love this paper :)  Next I used a Tattered Lace die - Oriental Knots to and used several of these to make a textured background.  The shamrocks were designed by me by using 4 hearts welded together in my die cutting software and then cut.  I then coloured them with Promarkers and finished them off with some gold varnish spray and gold Stickles.
